Zero energy Green Hydrogen...

In the lab (U of C SC) it was discovered how to make hydrogen without using energy. The published technical paper leaves a lot of unanswered questions including:

1) is the alloy a one time use?
2) how much energy does it take to make the alloy?
3) how many square units of the alloy does it take to produce 1Kg of Hydrogen

Now the work is in a lab, not in commercial production, so it may be completely infeasible to make it a commercial process.

But if it is feasible, it may solve many issues with making hydrogen, with the energy directed to making the alloy, and not the actual hydrogen.
