I have a broad background in utilities and energy. I worked for Capgemini in the Energy Practice for more than 15 years. During that time I rose to the position of CTO of the 12,000 person practice. During that same time, Capgemini grew from less than $10 Million dollars in energy related revenue to more than $2.4 Billion. I was part of the global leadership team and worked all over the world in a thought leadership and delivery role. During that time I founded the Smart Energy Alliance, Lead the Distribution Roadmap 2025, and developed the smart metering and smart grid practices.
In September of 2009, I Joined EnerNex as the Vice President of Technical Innovation, where he worked with clients all over North and South America, Asia, and Australia on issues related to Smart Grid/Metering/Homes and other related issues.
In June of 2017 I moved to Burns & Mc Donnell, as the lead for Grid Modernization. Burns & Mc Donnell encouraged my continued work with the IEEE PES and GWAC. My first projects include work for Entergy on Grid Modernization and Grid 3.0; and Duquesne Light Company on its downtown underground network. I continue to create and give tutorials for IEEE PES, and to chair the IEEE PES iGET CC (Intelligent Grid/Emerging Technology Coordinating Committee). I also continue to test IoT and home automation technologies on his family in the real world.
Specialties: I have a wide range of skills from physical understanding of the grid and pipelines to IT. This includes business and IT architecture, process and procedure, security (including smart grid/AMI) and overall system operation. I have worked on water, gas and electricity in my career.
