PacificLight Power is developing a $735 million hydrogen-ready power plant on Singapore's Jurong Island, aiming for completion by 2029. This facility will initially utilize a fuel mix containing at least 30% hydrogen, with the capability to transition to 100% hydrogen in the future. Equipped with advanced H-class Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) technology and a large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), the plant is designed to enhance grid stability and operational efficiency. This initiative aligns with Singapore's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by mid-century. The project is backed by Indonesian billionaire Anthoni Salim, associated with First Pacific, a major stakeholder in PacificLight Power. Salim's investment underscores a commitment to advancing cleaner energy solutions in the region.
