Generalist or specialist?

Generalist or specialist?

It is very important to know when to allocate each of them in decision-making processes involving energy.

The most successful path begins with generalists. It aims to discover where - for example in the energy area - to focus technical, financial, legal and management efforts to create an interesting and convenient strategy. Subsequently, and as the discoveries were made, experts - specialists - must be called in to characterize the solutions, respecting the "boundary conditions" required by the board and/or council.

It is about knowing how to lead people... to achieve and maintain competitiveness in the energy area requires this approach.

Most companies and institutions - medium and large - that I met do the opposite in Brazil. It is a specialist who "comes up" with a suggestion and then try to encourage upper managers and and even board members to "buy the idea". Projects often do not succeed. And then a lot of effort and time was wasted.

Try the "structured path". You will certainly be surprised! I say from my own experience.
