What are the best renewable energy sources?
This is a question that is of great interest to everyone who wants to achieve and maintain costs and emissions competitiveness.
The answer is very simple. The investment to set up a generation from renewable sources is basically the same in $/kW installed.
So what defines the ranking is the volume of energy produced per kW installed. The list below presents three commercially available renewable sources.
1. Hydraulic 500 kWh/month/kW installed
2. Wind 280 kWh/month/kW installed
3. Solar 110 kWh/month/kW installed
And interestingly, this order is the same that defines the emissions by the life cycle of each of the sources.
