The Super Bowl is in the books, but do you know which sports stadiums are the top 5 solar adopters?

Last year over 40 million Americans attended a sports event powered by solar. The NFL is leading the way with almost a third of its stadiums having onsite solar. Baseball and Basketball aren’t far behind with 30% of stadiums deploying solar. But the top 5 are:

#5           FedEx Field: home of the NFL’s Washington Commanders with a 2 MW system

#4           America First Field: Utah’s major league soccer stadium which gets 73% of its energy from 6,423 solar panels

#3           Capital One Arena: Both the NHL Capitals and NBA Wizards play at this arena with its 3.5 MW offsite solar installation

#2           Lincoln Financial Field; Having lost the Super Bowl, the Eagles are the second-best team in the NFL and their stadium’s 11,000 panel array also ranks second with 4 MW of capacity. Better luck next year.

#1           Golden 1 Center: And coming in at #1 is the home of the NBA’s Sacramento Kings. With its 8.6 MW portfolio it is the world’s first arena to be 100% solar powered year-round.
