Planet Pulse: A rhythmic check in on climate change

A✌️361-word✌️2-minute✌️read

𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁 𝗣𝘂𝗹𝘀𝗲 - a curated sample of the week’s more interesting, important, or just amusing stories.

So far this year, climate-related press has taken two forms: touting last year’s accomplishments, and attempting to convince readers that the movement has so much momentum, even President Trump can’t stop it.

That’s partly true, but the President’s evisceration of U.S. climate policies - along with other global events - is going to put a major dent into progress.

I understand the desire to find positive slants, but I’m not sure how long the press can keep touting such stories. One of the goals of my Planet Pulse posts is to inject some levity - of the satirical variety - into the current somber reality.

This week, stories include a new meaning to space-age nuclear, yet another example of style trumping substance, early signs of Trump’s influence, and to end on a positive note, a major net-zero milestone.
