Planet Pulse: A rhythmic check in on climate change

A✌️442-word✌️ 3-minute✌️read

𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁 𝗣𝘂𝗹𝘀𝗲 - a curated sample of the week’s more interesting, important, or just amusing stories.

The climate movement’s big gathering - COP30 - started this week in Brazil. In the past I’ve written extensively on what transpires during the conference, but I’m done. And it’s not because the United States sent no official representatives. It’s because COP is generally one huge waste of time.

Since I’ve been following it, the outcome is the same. Lots of exciting new promises are made. Impressive press releases are issued. Then, very little is accomplished.

A while ago I published a 10-point plan that could make COP useful, but the chances of anyone paying attention to it is about the same as COP yielding substantial results. If anyone is interested in my proposed changes to COP, DM me and I’ll send it to you.

I end the week as I always do, with an edition of Plante Pulse. This week’s offering covers a costly doubling, a totally different picture on the other side of the globe, mentioning unmentionables, and the private sector showing the public sector how it’s done.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀:

An unwanted doubling

It’s free Down Under

From Down Under to underwear

Breathtaking
