On July 5, 2023, the U.S. Department of Interior's Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) approved the construction and operations plan for Ocean Wind I. The 1.1-gigawatt (GW) offshore wind farm will be built by Danish company Ørsted. The project is located about 15 miles off the coast of Atlantic City, New Jersey. PSEG will support the project with construction management, environmental permitting and compliance services for the onshore substations and transmission cable installation scope. With this milestone, Ocean Wind 1 remains on track to begin onshore construction activities in the fall of 2023, with offshore construction ramping up in 2024, and commercial operations commencing in 2025.
