One of America’s reddest states wants 100% green energy — if dams count as green

Hey all -- Sammy Roth here, energy reporter for the Los Angeles Times. Just joined and thought you might enjoy my latest story, about Idaho Power's voluntary pledge for 100% clean energy -- and the role of hydropower in the energy transition. Here it is: Idaho's Snake River dams could help phase out fossil fuels - Los Angeles Times (latimes.com)

Would love to hear what everyone things. Happy to answer questions. The story is Part 4 of Repowering the West, an ongoing series I've been leading about barriers to renewable energy in the Western U.S.: Swapping fossil fuels for clean energy will reshape the West - Los Angeles Times (latimes.com)

I also followed up on the Idaho story with some personal reflections on hydropower: Are hydropower dams good or bad for the environment? (latimes.com)

Thanks, and looking forward to discussing!
