The World Bank are increasingly engaging with the energy transition. They took part in a session I moderated in Johannesburg last autumn and here is their input into offshore wind opportunities for Vietnam
Action will need to be taken by the Government of Vietnam to develop a successful industry and maximize the economic benefits that offshore wind can bring.
To help focus efforts, the roadmap groups actions into Priority Themes, corresponding to immediate, near-term, and longer-term recommended actions as groups for the Government of Vietnam to consider (see Figure ES.2).
This begins with setting a vision in the Eighth Power Development Plan (PDP-8) and subsequently developing the processes and infrastructure that will enable the vision to be realized.
