Happy Monday. Hope every had an enjoyable weekend and managed to stay awake for Hollywoodโs annual marathon self- congratulatory event.
The Oscars serve two purposes. The event provides an opportunity for those who earn a handsome living playing make believe to inform the world of just how integral they are to life as we know it. It is also the longest commercial for an industry known to mankind. With that said, Conan OโBrien was pretty funny.
Now on to a subject infinitely more important: the need to stop polluting the planet.
This week Iโm going to do something different and post updates on different technology sectors. Today I cover the some of the happenings in nuclear technology. The plan is to do a similar post on geothermal, hydrogen, and carbon capture technologies.
Although attitudes toward nuclear have been consistently improving, many in the climate community insist that nuclear will never be a viable option. I suspect many of the naysayers make a living from wind and solar.
The mantra goes: itโs too expensive and takes too long to build. True enough today.
The primary reason nuclear is so expensive is because the technology has been regulated into oblivion. Thatโs all changing, and despite being relegated to yesterdayโs news, the technology has continued to advance.
