Construction robots have installed 100 MW of solar in Southern California—one of the largest demonstrations of its kind. (Electrek)
At the AES Bellefield solar complex, AI-enabled bots are consistently clocking one module per minute and enabling crews to install as many as 24 panels per hour per person. That’s nearly double the output of traditional methods at similar sites.
The bigger picture: The solar industry is running up against the same construction labor shortages squeezing the rest of the energy buildout. It’ll prove particularly handy as the deployment pipeline balloons.
