Spain’s Elmya Energy and London-based Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure launched a joint venture, “Elmantic,” to build 4 GW of wind, solar, and storage across ERCOT and the Western US. They plan to focus on greenfield projects sited on private land.
The timing is deliberate: Elmantic expects its first projects to come online near the end of the decade, when the policy climate may have shifted again. “Our industry has seen these ups and downs,” Elmya Energy USA Head of North America Colin Mott told UD.
