If five federally targeted offshore wind projects (5.8 GW total) are ultimately canceled, the average ratepayer across 15 Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states could pay ~$100 more a year for the next decade, to the tune of $45B total.
Why? The grid would have to rely more heavily on natural gas which, unlike wind, is subject to market volatility.
