NEWS: This is the largest geothermal plant design yet.

Ormat Technologies has revealed a new 100-MW surface power generation unit for enhanced geothermal systems, fittingly called the Ormega100. It offers double the output of the company’s current largest operating model. 

After Ormat completes its two EGS pilot programs (anticipated to wrap up in 2027), it will begin building the Ormega100—and because the company is fully integrated, Ormat claims it’ll move quicker than most startups.
