In a double blow to residential renewables, rooftop giant Sunnova and lending platform Solar Mosaic both filed for Chapter 11. (WSJ)
Sunnova, once valued at over $5 billion and serving 400K+ customers, struggled under $8.9 billion in debt, rising interest rates, and evaporating investor confidence after federal clean energy incentives began to shrink.
Mosaic, citing similar headwinds, pointed to political uncertainty and the House-passed “Big Beautiful Bill,” which would end solar tax credits early and further chill investment in the sector.
