NEWS: Ormat wants to roll out 1 GW of enhanced geothermal by 2035.

  • Big news: It’s the first time that geothermal veteran Ormat has announced a target and timeline for these next-gen systems. The company also noted that it has a 3-4 GW EGS development pipeline.

  • The first step? A 280-MW commercial project at Dixie Valley in Nevada (Ormat said it’s now negotiating PPAs). It’s planned to start producing energy in phases, beginning in 2029.
