NEWS: New York Power Authority doubles amount of planned renewable energy projects

The New York Power Authority’s updated strategic plan adds 20 new renewable generation projects and 156 storage installations, bringing the total to more than 200 projects with nearly 7 GW of capacity. (Solar Power World)

  • That’s double the capacity outlined in NYPA’s first plan just six months ago.

  • Between the lines: The move comes amid political pressure (federal tax credits, the EPA’s endangerment finding, etc.), prompting state actors like NYPA to accelerate timelines and hedge against national policy reversals.
