Set to make its way to the Senate, the GEO Power Act would enable the Energy Department to fund projects in areas with a paucity of geothermal projects. It would also speed up the commercialization of next-gen geothermal technologies. The bill is spearheaded by Senators John Hickenlooper, D-CO and Steve Daines, R-MT.
The bill has received support from two of the industry’s leading trade groups and companies including Eavor, Fervo, and XGS Energy.
