Michigan state reps introduced the Maximizing American Grid Affordability Solar Act in an attempt to restore local control over siting decisions and limit large-scale solar growth. (The Keweenaw Report)
Also known as the MAGA Act, the bill would cap the proportion of solar energy powering the grid at 20%. The bill would also 1) require at least 10% savings for ratepayers and 2) ban clear-cutting state forest land for solar farms.
