NEWS: In Q2, new US utility-scale clean power capacity rose by 45% year-over-year.

The breakdown: The record 17 GW boost includes 7.4 GW of solar, nearly 5 GW of onshore wind, and 4.7 GW of battery storage. That brings the US grand total to (drumroll please 🥁)...nearly 390 GW of clean power capacity—enough for over 83M households.

It’s a sign that the economic case for these sources still stands, despite federal meddling. But…these speedbumps are still slowing progress, especially in the wind department. More than 11.6 GW of land-based wind power hit delays in Q2.
