Minnesota just got a solar manufacturing upgrade. Heliene has opened a new panel assembly facility in the Twin Cities metro, nearly doubling its US capacity. (Solar Power World)
Heliene’s all about supply chain sovereignty. It’s producing bifacial silicon modules with high domestic content, including US-sourced steel frames (Origami Solar), recycled glass (SolarCycle), and polysilicon and wafers from Corning, Hemlock, and Suniva.
With $2.3M in Minnesota state grants and more than 220 new hires, the site reflects a broader push to localize clean energy supply chains—and gives the Midwest a stronger foothold in solar reshoring.
