Greece  |  Floating Offshore Wind

The Hellenic Hydrocarbons and Energy Resources Management Company (HEREMA) has announced the draft National Development Programme for Offshore Wind Farms at an event held in Athens, Greece, on October 31. The draft plan includes 25 areas, covering a total area of 2,712 square kilometers, with an estimated minimum capacity of 12.4 GW.

The programme defines the eligible Organized Development Areas (ODA) and estimates the capacity of offshore wind projects that can be developed in the mid-term (up to 2030-2032) and long-term (after 2030-2032) horizon.

The majority of the proposed offshore areas are suitable for floating technology, HEREMA said.
