NEWS: Oklo Stock Wavers After Earnings, but the Nuclear Start-Up Has Good News

Oklo nabbed its first NRC license—but it’s not the one investors are waiting for. (Barron’s)

  • The license covers Atomic Alchemy, Oklo’s radioisotope production subsidiary. It clears that side of the business to distribute isotopes from its Idaho lab—and opens an early revenue stream for the startup.

  • Bigger picture: Oklo still needs NRC approval for its advanced fast reactors to sell electricity. But the company also announced a DOE agreement to support the development of its first reactor at Idaho National Lab under the Reactor Pilot Program.

  • Oklo is targeting commercial power production by 2027/2028, with a Meta-partnered nuclear campus in southeastern Ohio. Right now, it’s one of the few binding partnerships in the US nuclear industry.
