NEWS: EU's nuclear energy plans require 241 billion euro investment, draft shows

Scaling nuclear in the EU will come with a €241 billion price tag, according to a draft report from the European Commission. (Reuters)

  • The bloc wants to boost nuclear capacity to 109 GW by 2050. Meeting that target, however, will take €205 billion for new builds and €36 billion for extending plant lifespans.
