NEWS: Companies see big chance to spin nuclear straw into usable gold

Two startups are betting that America’s nuclear waste can be fuel for the future. (Axios)

  • Oklo, backed by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, announced plans for a $1.68B fuel recycling hub in Tennessee, starting with a first-of-its-kind facility to turn used fuel into feedstock for its Aurora “fast” reactor.

  • Curio said several DOE labs validated its recycling tech. It’s preparing for scale-up to bring the process to market within a few years.
