Bio

Dr. Giada Caniglia is a chemist with nearly a decade of research experience in electrochemistry, materials science, and surface analysis.

She holds a PhD in Natural Sciences from the Ulm University (Germany), with doctoral research on antimicrobial surfaces and functional electrochemical interfaces, conducted within a Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA) international consortium of European academic and industrial partners. Prior to Ulm she completed a Master’s in Environmental and Materials Chemistry at the Universidad de La Laguna (Spain), where she also worked on early-stage corrosion mechanisms of metallic surfaces using local electrochemistry.

Her postdoctoral research centered on a DFG-funded project in photocatalysis and hydrogen evolution, developing custom analytical platforms, micro- and sub-microscale electrochemical probes, and hybrid electrochemical–optical systems to characterize photoelectrodes, coatings, and functional materials. She has held international research collaborations, including a research stay at the University of Warwick (UK).

She has authored and co-authored peer-reviewed work in international journals across electrochemistry, materials science, and surface analysis, and has presented at more than thirty international scientific conferences, including the Electrochemical Society (ECS), the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE), and Faraday Discussions.
