Over his 20-year career, Bud has built companies at the heart of the distributed energy future. That work underpins his unique knowledge base in the electric grid, transmission, and distribution markets. Currently, as CEO of MetOx Technologies, Bud is leading the effort to bring Xeus wire to market at scale. A highly efficient and advanced conductor technology, Xeus enables transmission-level power delivery at distribution-level voltages -- a crucial step change for the energy transition.
Most recently, as president of Generac Grid Services, (born from the acquisition of Enbala Power Networks in 2020), Bud advanced the technology, mapped out a trajectory for global growth, and oversaw the creation of a prosperous business within Generac.
Prior to Enbala, a distributed energy resource management company, Bud served as the Chief Operating Officer at Simple Energy, where he led strategy and business development. Bud also held the positions of Chief Technology Officer and Senior VP of Utility Sales at Comverge, where he oversaw the company’s technology architecture while working with their utility client base to identify and deliver high value projects using smart grid technology. At Comverge, Bud also served as SVP of Product Strategy and VP of Marketing, Products & Alliances.
