Paul Desmarais

I consider myself semi-retired. For some time my interest in power generation and distribution has been growing. I am looking to use my skills in controls, and particularly in SCADA, to make contributions in the power industry. I am keenly interested in Distributed Energy Resources, and building a modular distribution grid using them. I would really enjoy some part-time or contract work in power generation and distribution. My work at Georgia Power Company has given me some exposure and I would like more. I have BS degrees in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Technology, and some undergraduate courses in Computer Science. I want to continue my lifelong learning journey, through academia (maybe obtaining my MS Degree), and applying my varied background in new fields (hydo-power/energy storage & distribution). I have a keen interest in hydro-power, especially small scale and low-head (run-of-river) systems.I
