Athena is a data vendor - with a product that converts environmental data into profiles and then uses those profiles to create probabilities of participation in (or even being near) a wildfire.Â
A study of well over 100,000 wildfire ignitions across years and western states found that the majority were "nuisance" fires (90% were less than 5 acres). We focus on those that are economically significant - with data designed to be useful for business decisions. It is also updated quarterly, sensitive to the fire factors important in each bioregion, and traceable to original data sources.Â
