Energy communications professional, policy researcher, and former journalist with more than 25 years of experience at the intersection of energy, economics, and public affairs. President of The Hedley Company, a strategic communications and research firm specializing in traditional energy markets, grid reliability, and regulatory policy, and serves as Vice President of Communications for the Seneca Center for Energy & Critical Minerals Policy. Publisher and editor of America's Coal News, a Substack Publication. Author of several books available on Amazon including Friends of Coal: The Story of America's Coalfield Voice; Public Relations in the Energy Sector; The Green Lie: How Green Energy Companies Used Non-Profits and Astroturf Environmental Groups to Silence Competition; and Roots and Branches: From Brown Soil to Red Funding.

Previously served as Communications Director for two of the nation’s largest coal industry trade associations and was a lead energy and government policy reporter for the West Virginia State Journal. Widely recognized for developing and expanding the Friends of Coal public awareness campaign into one of the most influential energy communications platforms in the country.

Holds an MBA in Management and Economics and an MA in Public Relations and Journalism, and is a frequent author, commentator, and speaker on energy reliability, electric markets, and the economic impacts of energy policy.
