Alex Hobson is currently the Vice President of Communications at the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE).
Previously, Alex served as the Senior Communications Manager for the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) where she worked to carefully craft industry messaging, pitch reporters and routinely earn placements in top publications. Media placements included: The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Reuters, NPR, U.S. News & World Report, CCTV America, The Hill, Fox Business Network, Bloomberg, The Guardian, Greentech Media, EcoWatch and Solar Industry Magazine.
Prior to her career at SEIA - the national trade association of the U.S. solar energy industry - Alex was on the other side of the press release as a broadcast journalist for several stations throughout Florida. During her time in TV, she developed the skills necessary to properly pitch stories, cultivate relationships with reporters, strategically use social media and master a live interview. To this day, she uses her video shooting/editing skills to publish videos that highlight solar energy's tremendous success story in America.
Alex graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Telecommunication. She now lives in Maryland with her husband, Will.
