Vishwas Powar is a Ph.D. candidate in the Holcombe Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Clemson University, Clemson, SC, USA. He received his Bachelor of Engineering Degree from the University of Mumbai, India, in 2016 and his Master of Science in Intelligent Systems from Clemson University, USA, in 2019. As a Ph.D. candidate, his research is in the field of DC-based power networks, focusing on optimizing the utilization of green Photovoltaic power. He has more than 15 research publications with two award-winning papers. Vishwas is the Chair of IEEE Power and Energy Society’s Student Branch Chapter at Clemson University and a graduate student member actively involved with IEEE. He was recently inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi and Eta Kappa Nu honor societies. He aims to be an industry expert in the power and intelligent controls sector.
