Dr Stephane Bilodeau, Eng., FEC has a PhD in Energy & Advanced Thermodynamics as well as a Master in Applied Sciences. He is a Fellow of Engineers Canada. In the last 20 years, he has driven many projects related to Thermal Energy Storage and Energy Management in the Transport and Industrial sectors focusing on Energy Efficiency, Innovation and Sustainable Development.
As the President of Groupe Enerstat Inc (since 1996) and Chairman and Chief Technology Officer of Novacab Inc. (Since 2007), Dr Bilodeau has driven many projects related to Thermal Energy Storage and Energy Management in Vehicles and Buildings. He worked on developing technology innovations with various teams including IBM, Transport Canada, Natural Resources Canada, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Hydro-Quebec, Novabus/Volvo Bus, Kruger, Bombardier, etc.
Member of the Board at the OIQ (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec) from 2006 to 2015, he has been involved actively in different standing committees and work groups, and notably as Vice-President from 2009 to 2014 and President in 2014. Member of the Board of Engineers Canada from 2013 to 2016, he is Vice-President of the Governmental Relations and Public Affairs Committee since 2014. He has respectively received a Fellow of Engineers Canada (FEC) for its “Exceptional Contributions to the Engineering Profession in Canada” in 2015 and the President Award for his “Exemplary Involvement” from the Fondation de l’Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec in 2018.
Author of different patents linked with Energy Storage and Energy Management applied to processes, buildings or vehicles; some of these technologies have won different awards and prices (notably the ASHRAE Industrial Technology Award 2007, the IBM Innovation that Matters 2006 Contest, AQME Energia 2006 Award, etc.)
As a Lecturer and/or Associate Professor at the University of Sherbrooke since 1994, Dr. Bilodeau has been in charge of different energy-related courses. His publications appeared in ASHRAE Journal (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers), International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer (Pergamon Press), IEA Proceedings (International Energy Agency), SAE Proceedings (Society of Automotive Engineers), International Electric Vehicle Symposium (EVS) Proceedings, etc.[y1]
