David Nickerson has been designing and building power barges since 1989. After coming ashore as an unlimited Chief Officer and limited Master Mariner, he served in the US Coast Guard as a Marine Inspector. Subsequently, he spent 11 years with General Dynamics as a senior systems engineering specialist on a variety of projects ranging from LNG Carriers and the Atlas Centaur MLV II rocket program to the Next SSN nuclear attack submarine program at Electric Boat. At Electric Boat, Mr. Nickerson founded and was President of the Marine Energy Systems Company, a commercial enterprise focused on LNG cryogenic containment systems, modular power plant design and construction and power barges.He has been involved in the development of power barges with the following equipment:
