Nuclear Energy Industry Leader and consultant with 40 years’ experience in nuclear plant design, licensing, operation, and risk & safety analysis. My recent projects were in advanced nuclear reactors design, licensing, start up, equipment reliability innovation, probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) and safety analysis. I worked on many issues in development and startup of Vogtle 3&4 AP1000 reactors. I was responsible for a number of design features, startup test development, design optimization and many trouble shooting root causes during all aspects of testing to achieve commercial full power. I was part of team developed all PRA models in support of risk informed application implementation for the Southern Nuclear fleet. Developing advanced and improved PRA risk models resulted in Southern Nuclear fleet equipment reliability improvement, reduced cost, and increased reactor safety. Additionally, I was responsible for implementation of a number of risk-informed applications including component classification and Technical Specification completion time for the Southern Nuclear fleet. Other projects worked included several Extended Power Uprate (EPU) and Measurement Uncertainty Recapture (MUR) projects. Also, in developing the next generation of PRA professional workforce, I established a consortium of universities, utilities, research organizations and nuclear industry PRA professionals to develop and maintain sustainable pipeline of trained PRA professionals. I worked for 18 years as a consulting engineer with Sargent & Lundy Engineers firm in Chicago. In this position, I was able to support various utilities in many engineering challenges and plant performance improvements, and design enhancements. Currently, I am using my many years of practical experience in nuclear energy to provide consulting services to nuclear power industries in areas of design, licensing and new generation reactor development and licensing. I also provide support to National labs, research organizations and Academia. As a trained nuclear engineer and experienced nuclear professional leader with a vast experience in organizational effectiveness improvement, I help to inspire various organizations to achieve and sustain excellence.
