Geoff tracks the contribution of geospatial technology to the digitalization of the construction and energy industries and publishes on his Between The Poles blog, LinkeIn and other media. His area of special focus is locating, mapping and sharing information about underground utility infrastructure. Previously Geoff was Editor – Energy and Building with Geospatial Media and Communications where he was responsible for identifying strategic trends and elucidating the implications of these trends for utilities and for the broader construction industry. From 2001 to 2012 Geoff was responsible for thought leadership, evangelization, and industry messaging for the utility industry program at Autodesk. Geoff is a Director on the Board of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) where he contributes to strategic initiatives to help to broaden use of geospatial standards in electric power and other verticals. In recognition of his efforts to increase the awareness of geospatial data and technologies in vertical industries such as utilities and construction, Geoff received the Geospatial Ambassador Award at Geospatial World Forum 2014 in Geneva, Switzerland.
