Texas-based Fermi America (cofounded by former Energy Secretary Rick Perry) announced plans to build the country’s largest energy and data complex, which will combine gigawatt-scale nuclear reactors, gas, solar, and AI data centers. (Reuters)
The “Hypergrid” could deliver up to 11 GW of new power to north of 8 million homes. Fermi said 1 GW is expected to come online by the end of next year.
The company has not yet released the project’s total costs or funding source.
