Redwood is turning its massive stash of used EV batteries into a power source for AI. (Business Insider)
The Nevada-based company launched Redwood Energy to convert lightly used battery packs into stationary storage, starting with a 12 MW/63 MWh system serving AI infrastructure firm Crusoe’s GPU-powered facility.
With 20 GWh of batteries processed annually and over 5 million EVs on US roads, Redwood plans to scale to 20 GWh of second-life storage by 2028.
