President Donald Trump debuted a new “action plan” for AI—but the power crisis hasn’t been solved yet. (Semafor)
The plan details: It calls for 1) rollbacks to environmental oversight to expedite energy infrastructure permitting and 2) proposes the federal government “embrace new energy generation sources at the technological frontier.”
Worth noting: The plan “introduces no new policy recommendations that de-bottleneck key near-term power infrastructure constraints impeding data center development,” John Miller, energy transition policy analyst at the investment bank TD Cowen, wrote in a note.
