The project plugs into ISO-NE’s 115-kV network and is part of the grid operator’s push for 1,000 MWh of storage by the end of the year. It will help backfill capacity from the retired Pilgrim nuclear plant and the soon-to-retire Mystic gas plant while easing congestion in a stressed subzone.
