Geothermal startup Zanskar just raised $115M to turn AI-powered geothermal treasure maps into actual power plants. (Latitude Media)
While peers like Fervo Energy engineer new ways to drill, Zanskar uses AI to find hidden, high-quality reservoirs that work with conventional equipment—a move designed to lower capex by avoiding “first-of-a-kind” tech risk.
Now, Zanskar is transitioning from a pure-play exploration tech firm into a power producer, with plans to build its first six 20 MW greenfield plants over the next 3–4 years.
The loophole: To bypass the West’s notorious transmission backlog, Zanskar is intentionally sizing its projects at 20 MW or less to qualify for “small generator” interconnection rules.
