Power Industry 2022 Trends & Predictions: Letter from the Community Leader

Letter from the Community Leader:

As members of the Energy Central Community know better than anyone, today's utility industry is more dynamic and fast-moving than it's been at any other point in our lifetimes. New technologies are changing what's possible, customers expect more from their utility, and the regulatory landscape and marketplace are shining more light on the entire energy system. This rapidly evolving environment may seem intimidating and challenging. Still, the thought leaders in this space regularly keep the community informed about what's next on the horizon, and that's what this month's Special Issue is all about. 

In January, Energy Central solicited a call for articles for our first Special Issue Edition of the year –Power Industry 2022 Trends & Predictions. And each year our community members knock it out of the park, showing how proactive and diligently they're tracking the direction of the energy sector by sharing their insights. These prescient and insightful submissions from Energy Central Community Members are like a crystal ball or the Farmer's Almanac of what they think will be the most critical stories in 2022 and how utility leaders will respond. 

I invite you to enjoy some of our most popular submissions in this Special Issue Edition - Power Industry 2022 Trends & Predictions. And for a little bit more fun, we wanted to provide another way for people to participate. Hence, we asked some of our regular contributors to add a personal and community-based touch through a short video, "Power Industry 2022 Wishes and Trends."  I hope you will take an extra few minutes to get to know some of our regular contributors and watch this short video.  

Finally, I'll note that the release of the Special Issue isn't the end of the topic but just the beginning. Let's make this Special Issue as interactive as possible: all the authors who submitted articles encourage you to leave comments, questions, and ideas in the comments section to which they can respond.
