In this article, Bill Meehan, Director, Utility Solutions at Esri suggests the need for an electric version of the Ford Model T to help jump-start EV adoption the way the Ford Model T jump-started the use of motor-powered vehicles. He notes that the availability of affordable EVs should be accompanied by enough convenient charging stations to support them — infrastructure that utilities, entrepreneurs, energy companies, states, and municipalities, along with the federal government, must step up to build.

The VEX Concept Is Burdensome on Software Vendors and Unnecessary for Software Consumers

A Vulnerability Exploitability Exchange (VEX) document states that a software product is not affected by a particular vulnerability. In this piece, Richard Brooks, Co-Founder and Lead Software Engineer at Reliable Energy Analytics LLC suggests that VEX is an unnecessary burden for software vendors. Other information is available to help consumers determine the vulnerability status of software they purchase and developing VEX documents is cumbersome. The costs of such activities get passed on to customers, and they gain little, given that they are already being informed about present vulnerabilities.
