Who will be your next power trader?
In Brazil, there is an extensive list of power traders registered at the Electric Energy Trading Chamber ("CCEE" the official power clearinghouse).
Each of them has its own focus. There are those that target large consumers. There are the "retailers" that focus on small ones. And, of course, a platoon of "intermediaries".
And how should each one choose which traders should present offers for the next "round" of power contracting for their company or institution?
The price difference between traders for a given Request for Proposal is usually very small.
When I provide consultancy, I always prefer to encourage my clients to carefully check the economic and financial health of the traders to be "invited". Especially to prioritise "robust" traders that are not too "leveraged". This aims at security, which is an important factor for those who want reliability and peace of mind.
