Anaheim’s 12kV distribution system is 70% underground and one of their five GIS stations is underground. The $20MM EPC SF6 underground substation project was lead by Siemens, Turner Construction and Beta Engineering and was dedicated in October, 2006. Park Substation has excellent reliability and very low O&M costs. The largest O&M cost is for the large air handling system….and mowing the grass (jk).
