Power theft: Brazil is one of the "leaders"

In large numbers, 15% of the energy produced, transmitted and distributed is stolen. And it is passed on to the rates - the honest ones pay for it!
A "business" worth of billions of USD per year. Organised crime is certainly at the forefront of this massive "enterprise".
The articles that come out from time to time, residents of "poor communities" need to pay the "owners of the area" for the energy they steal and "supply".
In order not to alarm the population, the official electric designation for "power theft" is "non-technical losses".
