Our IEEE PES T&D EXPO panel on Grid Investment Strategies to Meet Record Demand featured Matthew Parker from Dominion, Ahmad Ababneh from ComEd, Sandra Johnson from Xcel Energy and Cleve Fann from Georgia Power. Each executive outlined their plans to invest billions of dollars into the T&D grid to reliably and affordably serve huge load grow in their communities.

Dominion- building 110 miles of underground HVDC and new 765kV

ComEd-will be investing $50B on entire system by 2031 with 30% of that on transmission. 40GW of data centers in the que.

Xcel Energy- new 765kV, building 110 new substations and 2000 miles of transmission in next 5-6 years, 1600 external engineers support their teams.

Georgia Power-will build a new 100 mile 500kV OH line in next four years. Strong focus on transparency with stakeholders and build trust. No rate increases. In fact, they are lowering rates to save average customer $100/YEAR.
