How will new energy sources get power to the grid? The electrical grids in northeastern coastal communities are not set up to handle high voltage cables from offshore wind farms. Brayton Point, a former coal-fired power plant in Somerset, is a prime location to connect wind power to the grid but the number of desirable locations has reduced.  Should the grid be rebuilt to accommodate this power or would building an “ocean grid” be cheaper, faster and better for the environment?
